I don’t think I can say anything that hasn’t already been said.

I wanted to reread this and The Hobbit before the first Hobbit movie was released. It’s the first time I’ve read it in a long time and I really enjoyed it. The whole time I was noting all the things the movie makers left out, moved around, or added. I had forgotten so much. It’s a slow read, but I was never bored. I even read all the appendices again.

I’ve been wanting to re-read this and the Lord of the Rings for the past few years. I figured this was a good time to do it since the movie is coming out in December.

I’m not sure what to say other than it’s still a great book. I didn’t remember much of what happened. It’s been a while since I’ve been exposed to this story. I watch the movie trilogy every year, but I haven’t read this one in a while.

The only part I don’t really like it the singing. Thankfully, there’s not much in the book.
